'Whitby Twilight (Through The Whalebone Arch)' Fine Art Print

A view of Whitby Abbey silhouetted against the sky, and the 199 steps leading up from the old town. I have imagined a young Goth girl walking through the whalebone arch on West Cliff, and leaning on the railings to watch the sun set over the opposite headland. This painting of WhitbyNorth Yorkshire, is a celebration of Whitby’s Gothic leanings. The Whitby Goth Weekend and alternative music festival, and of course Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula, who in the novel took the form of a large dog and ran up the 199 stone steps to the graveyard of St Mary’s Church in the shadow of the Whitby Abbey ruins.

My ‘Whitby Twilight’ fine art print is taken from an original charcoal and acrylic drawing. It is a companion piece to ‘Whitby Dawn’. The two pieces are opposite view points across the town at opposite times of day.

This print is part of my Yorkshire Landscape Prints and Sunrise Sunset Art collections.
