Praa Sands Beach

Praa Sands is a popular mile long south west facing sandy beach and village in Cornwall. Hendra Beach is at the far end of Praa Sands, below Lesceave Cliff and the Cornish Coastal Path (part of the South West Coast Path) to Rinsey Head. This ink drawing was made from an amalgamation of sketches drawn in situ, and finished with watercolour wash. A reminder of walks along the cliff path in spring with the promise of summer days ahead. Wild flowers, unfurling ferns, and a stone chat perched on the signpost. It’s not surprising that Praa Sands lies within Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
