Coloured charcoal and chalk street scene drawing featuring The Crown Inn and railway viaduct in Stockport, Greater Manchester. A major feat of Victorian engineering, Stockport Viaduct is the largest brick structure in the United Kingdom, and The Crown Inn an unspoilt British pub. A working man walks wearily towards the door for a welcome pint at the end of the day. This is one of my most colourful drawings, as I wanted to show the contrast of the white chimneys of the pub, against the red and black shadows of the arches, set against the blue sky. This Stockport art is part of my Manchester Art Prints and Stockport Art Street Scenes collections.
