Early Morning Print

Charcoal and acrylic landscape painting of dawn over the Torrs, New Mills, Derbyshire. Looking down onto the roof of Torr Vale Mill and across to the lights of Swizzels Matlow sweet factory in the distance. I was inspired to paint this picture after seeing this view one early winters morning. It seemed to me the two old mills were speaking to each other across the valley. The Manchester-Sheffield train line can be seen below, and in the gorge a heron traces the path of the river Goyt. Part of my New Mills art prints collection.
