Coloured charcoal and chalk drawing featuring The Crown Inn and railway viaduct in Stockport, Greater Manchester. A major feat of Victorian engineering, Stockport Viaduct is the largest brick structure in the United Kingdom, and The Crown Inn an unspoilt British pub. A working man walks wearily towards the door for a welcome pint at the end of the day. This is one of my most colourful drawings, as I wanted to show the contrast of the white chimneys of the pub, against the red and black shadows of the arches, set against the blue sky.
