Manchester contemporary art. Charcoal street scene of Oxford Road, showing bridges over the River Medlock with railway viaduct above. This piece draws inspiration the 1912 painting, ‘India House’ by the French artist  Adolphe Valette, which was painted from the same spot. On the left is the Refuge Assurance Building (now the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel). In the distance, and seen reflected in the river is the back of India House, a large terracotta office building on Whitworth Street. Part of my Manchester Art Prints collection.
